CECO Environmental Corp. has been in the business of cleaning air for over 94 years. Currently trading on NASDAQ (symbol:CECE), CECO became a public company in 1991 and since that time, has maintained a consistently enviable growth rate. Seasoned management, strategic acquisitions and a clear strategy for accelerated growth have established CECO as a global presence in the world of environmental controls.

As a result of the threat of future terrorist attacks on this country, CECO Environmental, supplier of filtration systems to the U.S. military's chemical weapons destruction program, is calling on governments to implement higher standards for air ventilation systems in public buildings, including airports, subways, shopping centers and schools. According to Mr. Phil DeZwirek, CECO's Chairman, "Currently many of these facilities have no effective filters at all in their ventilation systems. We have the technology to upgrade existing systems with filtering systems that capture airborne biological agents." CECO has been involved with the chemical weapons destruction program since its inception in the mid-eighties. Its filtering systems were engineered into incinerators where several thousand tons of Sarin and VX nerve gas and blister agents have so far been destroyed, along with more than half a million rockets, bombs, mortars and mines. "Our technology has successfully filtered all particles from the incineration process," says Mr. DeZwirek.

CECO Environmental through its twelve subsidiaries: Kirk & Blum, CECO Filters Inc., Busch International, kbd TECHNIC, CECO Abatement Systems, CECOAire,
H.M. White, Effox, GMD Environmental, Fisher-Klosterman, Flextor, and AVC Specialists, have achieved numerous corporate successes.

  • Ongoing and increased expenditure in Research & Development has led to the origination of several innovative patents

CECO has been aggressively acquiring companies whose core business strengthens CECO's product profile and furthers the company's objective of becoming a dominant force in the air quality marketplace.

By using advanced technology, registering valuable new patents and consolidating global alliances, CECO has strengthened its competitive advantage to such an extent that it now provides full services to much of the steel, aluminum, automotive, aerospace, semiconductor, chemical, and metalworking industries.

Through strategic alliances with seven international distributors and by developing technology licensing agreements in Europe and Asia, CECO has laid the groundwork for its rapid expansion into an infinitely more rewarding global marketplace. The expertise, recognition and market-confidence gained by CECO's 94-year presence in the environmental control industry means CECO is now poised to optimize current marketplace conditions and begin a new and accelerated phase of growth.

It is a virtual certainty that the need for clean air and the reduction of industrial pollutants will continue to ensure the demand for control systems is worldwide, ongoing and expanding. For our shareholders, this simple fact provides the reassurance that CECO's current rate of growth promises not just to remain consistent, but will be ongoing over the long-term.

Boasting a history of continuous and consistent growth, a market presence that is long established and expanding and a corporate strategy that is set to increase momentum, CECO is a company whose current success places it firmly on track for an even more successful future.
